A traverse, not a base-camp trek. You start in Imlil, summit Toubkal early while you are fresh, then keep walking east across the range, camping and staying in villages that see almost no visitors, until you drop into the Ourika valley at Setti Fatma.
Days alternate between high passes above 3,000 m and long descents into inhabited valleys where the cook shops for produce as you go.
It is the most complete picture of the High Atlas we offer, and the summer months are when the whole route is reliably open.

Transfer and short walk to the first village gite.

Toubkal refuge
Climb the Mizane valley to the refuge at 3,207 m.

Toubkal summit → Tachdirt side
Summit at dawn, descend and traverse east.

Tizi n'Tachdirt
Cross the pass at 3,172 m into the Imenane valley.

Imenane valley
A greener day between hamlets, with a village lunch stop.

Yes. Tents, sleeping mattresses, the mess tent and all cooking equipment travel with the mules. You bring a sleeping bag or rent one.
You pass villages most days, but several sections have no road access at all. Your guide carries a phone and an emergency plan for each stage.
