Full description
This is the trek for people who want the mountain range, not just the highest point on it. Over six days you cross from valley to valley, sleeping in Berber gites and mountain refuges, and take in both Jbel Toubkal (4,167 m) and Ouanoukrim (4,089 m).
Between the summits the route drops back into inhabited country — irrigation channels, walnut groves, threshing floors and villages where the mules come from — so the trek alternates hard high days with easier, greener ones.
It is a point-to-point itinerary, which means new terrain every day and no repeated trails.
Itinerary
Day 1
Marrakech → Imlil → Aroumd
Transfer, meet the team and walk to Aroumd for the first night in the valley.
Day 2
Tizi Mzik → Azzaden valley
Cross the Tizi Mzik pass into the Azzaden valley and sleep in a village gite at Tizi Oussem.
Day 3
Azzaden → Lepiney refuge
Climb the valley head to the Lepiney hut beneath the western cirque.
Day 4
Ouanoukrim
Ascend Ouanoukrim (4,089 m), then traverse to the Toubkal refuge at 3,207 m.
Day 5
Jbel Toubkal
Early summit of Toubkal (4,167 m) and descent to Aroumd.
Day 6
Imlil and return
Short valley walk to Imlil, lunch, and the drive back to Marrakech.

Good to know before you book
- Six consecutive walking days with two summit days — you should be comfortable walking 6–8 hours with a day pack.
- Refuge nights are dormitory style; gite nights are simple rooms with shared bathrooms.
- Best run between April and October; outside that window we switch to the winter expedition.
- Route order can be reversed or adjusted by the guide for weather and refuge availability.

Frequently asked questions
Do I carry my own luggage?
No. Mules carry your main bag between overnight stops and you walk with a day pack only.
Is this harder than the 4-day Toubkal trek?
Yes — it is longer, crosses more passes and includes a second 4,000 m summit, but the daily pace is steady and there are easier valley days built in.
Can we do it as a private departure?
Yes, all trekking departures can be run privately for your group on the dates you choose.
